Why I started this blog.

I started this blog following the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement in May 2020 after the death of George Floyd, and to have place to put the flood of thoughts, feelings, and memories relating to race that have resurfaced as a result of it. This site is entirely in my own words, and has been set up to show that those of us directly affected by BLM this time around are still educating ourselves just as much as our allies are.

I hope it documents the maturation and development of thoughts and opinions over time, but for now, it stands as a monument to how Ignorant we can all be to how pervasive and complex racism in the 21st century truly is.
