Welcome to Ignorant! I wanted a place to show that falling under the umbrellas of People of Colour or Black and Asian Minority Ethnic group does not guarantee knowledge on everything to do with racism. As mis-informed as these posts may seem in months or years down the line, I hope to show a steady improvement in the acknowledgement and reduction of my Ignorance.
I am actually writing my thesis now, and mistakenly assumed I would have more time to write posts after leaving the lab. I mentioned this to a postdoc and their laughter resonates with my earlier naivety.
Instead I have been immersed in the global response to the killing of George Floyd. I have felt grief, outrage, and sorrow all in one unending and all-consuming wave of emotion.
